Golf Report - 31 August 2024

Four seasons in one day hit Marysville on Saturday and the golfers had to rearrange their clothing each time the weather changed. There was sunshine, hail, wind and rain but at least there wasn’t any snow. During the episodes of strong winds, a number of members were seen chasing after their umbrellas as they rolled across the fairways. The Neil Murphy Trophy is a stableford competition for the men and the ladies.  Congratulations to Richie Clark (14) for having 35 points, the best score of the day and thus winning the Neil Murphy Trophy. The ladies daily winner was Sabrina Stow (22) with 34 points and the men’s daily winner was Steve Berry (11) also with 34 points. The nearest the pins were won by Richie Clark, Gail Leigh and Steve Berry who also won the Golden Shot. Next Saturday both the men and the ladies will play stroke for the September monthly medal and the ladies round will include the final of the Barton shield.

The club AGM will be held before play on Saturday September 14 and members are asked to nominate players for committee membership as soon as possible.

Detailed information regarding the Trivia Night on September 21st, the 50th Anniversary of the opening of the back nine holes and fundraiser on  Saturday November 9th and the Mixed Dalhousie Tournament the following day can be read on the Marysville Golf Clubs’ website.
