Golf Report - 3 August 2024

The monthly medal played on the first Saturday of each month is a popular event on the syllabus and last Saturday was no exception. A good field of men and ladies played a stroke round for the August monthly medal. The ladies winner was Lesley Rundle (33) with nett 77 followed by Jody Doran ( 12) with nett 80. Jody had played at Spring Valley golf club on Thursday and had a terrific round of 81 off the stick nett 69. Well played Jody. The men’s winner was Adam Littlejohn (23) with an excellent nett 65 and Adams round included just 27 putts. The men’s runner up was Andrew O’Shea (6) with nett 73. Just 2 of the 4 possible nearest the pins were won with Richie Clark winning both the 9th and 18th.

Next Saturday both the men and ladies will play a stableford round.

This year the club celebrates the 50th anniversary of the opening of the back 9 holes. To mark the occasion preparations are underway for a major celebration on Saturday 9th November. This will also be a fundraiser for funds needed to replace the expensive equipment stolen from the club in January.  Those in attendance will be able to play a 4-person ambrose and enjoy an evening dinner in the clubhouse. Non golfers will be welcome to attend the dinner and have the chance to win some major prizes, bid for auction items and win a raffle prize. The Marysville mixed tournament will be held on Sunday 10th November providing local golfers and visitors with a weekend festival of golf. More details will be given at a later date.

A Trivia Night is also being held at the club on Saturday 21st September. More details later.
