Thankfully the weather gods were looking over the Marysville golf club last Saturday and the rain, wind and hail held off until the golfers had completed their stableford round. Both the men and the ladies played a stableford round and played on a well-prepared course with few signs of the wintery conditions witnessed during the week. A number of the course volunteers are away seeking some sunshine so Members gave special thanks to Kellan Fiske for maintaining the course so beautifully with fewer hands-on deck to assist him.
The men’s winner was Travers Stow (20) with 35 points which was the best score of the day. Mark Bambery (23) was the runner up with 33 points. Heather Jenkins (18) won the ladies competition with 33 points followed by Jody Doran (12) with 32 points. Just two of the four nearest the pins were won by Heather Jenkins and Travers Stow who also won the Golden Shot.
Next Saturday a stroke round will be played for the August monthly medal.
