The number of golfers playing in the Thursday nine hole competition is growing and last Thursday 18 players enjoyed a stableford game on the back nine holes. The winner was Ray Jones (12) with 21 points. The runner up was Peter Doery (17) with 20 points on a three way countback. The nearest the pins were won by Mark Alexander and Ian Harris. The shot of the day was played by Bob Emblin on the Par 4 17th hole. Bob’s third shot went into the river in front of the green, bounced on a rock and landed on the green. With 2 putts Bob ended up with a 5 just one over Par. Well played Bob.

In more comfortable conditions than for the past few weeks the Saturday golfers played a stroke round. The ladies winner was Lesley Rundle (34) with nett 70 followed closely by Meredith Doery (33) with nett 71. The men’s winner was Alex Bullard with nett 66 and the runner up was Pat Orwin with nett 69 on a three way countback. The putting was won by Meredith Doery with 24 putts and the nearest the pins were won by Brian Worcester, Adam Littlejohn, Steve Coker and Ray Jones who also won the Golden Shot. A number of our members who have holiday homes in Marysville and District joined the competition as did Jeremy Anghie a MetroSixty12 member.

Next Saturday golfers from Alexandra, Eildon, Marysville and Yea will gather at Yea GC to play in the third round of the Foodworks Murrindindi Masters. There will be no competition held at Marysville on that day.
