Golf Report - 24 August 2024


It was a fine day weather wise for golf on Saturday with a touch of Spring in the air and flowering wattles and camelias scattered around the course. Both the men and the ladies played a stableford round. The ladies winner was Lesley Rundle (33) with 31 points on a countback from Heather Jenkins. Ken Whittingham (32) was the men’s winner with an excellent 39 points followed by Richie Clark (14) with 36 points. The nearest the pins were won by Peter Lilley, Keith Atwell and Gail Leigh who won on the 9th and 18th and Gail also won the Golden Shot. Next week both the men and the ladies will be playing for the Neil Murphy Trophy. It will be a stableford round with the playing groups  mixed and tee off at 10.00am.


The club AGM will be held before play on Saturday September 14 and members are asked to nominate players for committee membership as soon as possible.


The Dalhousie districts events are about to begin after the winter recess and Marysville players will be traveling throughout the district to support other clubs. The Marysville ladies Tournament will be held on Thursday October 10th.


Detailed information regarding the Trivia Night on September 21st, the 50th Anniversary of the opening of the back nine holes and fundraiser on  Saturday November 9th and the Mixed Dalhousie Tournament the following day can be read on the Marysville Golf Clubs’ website.
