Marysville Golf Report
15th February 2020
Last Saturday the third round of the Foodworks Murrindindi Masters was held at Eildon. Within the last few weeks the Eildon township and golf course have been subjected to two ferocious storms. On the golf course numerous trees were blown over causing major damage to the fairways and some greens. The Eildon golfers worked extremely hard to clean up the course and in a very short time they were ready to host the Murrindindi Masters. They are to be congratulated on preparing the course so promptly and so well. In hot and humid conditions eighty six golfers from the four Murrindindi clubs gathered to play a stableford round. The winner of the Eildon Ladies Mini Masters was Sue Auriche (35) from Yea with 38 points and the men’s Mini Masters winner was young Dylan Jack (20) from the Alexandra golf club with 40 points. Congratulations to Sue and Dylan. The Marysville men winners were Steve Berry (10) who won A Grade with 40 points, Adam Littlejohn (18) was B Grade runner up with 38 points and Richard Clark (22) was the runner up in C Grade with 32 points. The ladies also had some success with Jillian Chandler (32) winning C Grade on a count back from Lesley Rundle. Congratulations to all the winners on the day. Thanks to Foodworks for their ongoing generous sponsorship of this event and to all the Eildon golfers for hosting the day. The final round of the Masters will be held at Alexandra on Saturday 14th March.
The Thursday nine holers played stroke on the back nine holes. The winner with nett 34 was Reynaldo Rey and the runner up with nett 35 on a count back from Ian Wilton was Jillian Chandler. Richard Clark won the putting with 13 putts but no player was able to reach the green on the 18th for nearest the pin.
The 2020 Dalhousie District events have begun and on Tuesday four Marysville ladies played in the Player of the Year 4 BBB event at Seymour and on Thursday Jillian Chandler will represent Marysville at the Hidden Valley Bowl. Results will be given next week.
Next Saturday both the men and ladies will play a stableford round.
The Bushfire Relief Fundraiser will be held at the club on Sunday 1st March. The entry fee is $25 which includes a sausage sizzle lunch. To assist with catering golfers who wish to play are asked to register before Monday 17th February with Alan Howard on 0438 655 558. Tee off will be a shotgun start at 9.30 after registration at 9.00am.
