Three years ago the Great Country Australia golfers accepted an invitation to visit Marysville and play an annual Challenge Match against the Marysville golfers. The invitation was accepted and on Saturday the third challenge was held. All golfers played a stableford round, the top 12 scores from each team were added up and this year Marysville were declared the winners with 382 points.  This year Barry Plant Real Estate sponsored the event and all those involved with the Challenge greatly appreciated their support and involvement.

The men’s daily winner for Great Country was Michael Quinn and the runner up was John Cramer. The Marysville men’s winner was Colin Davies (32) with 38 points and Adam Littlejohn (23) just one point behind was the runner up. Margaret Blair (31) with 34 points was the ladies winner followed by Rebecca Lee (25) who with 31 points was the runner up. Rebecca also won the ladies longest drive on the 8th hole. The men’s longest drive was hit by Marysville member Ross Ansell who also had the nearest the pin on the 18th hole. The straightest drive on the 14th fairway was hit by visitor Michael Woods.
